Hi, I'm Joe.

Hi, I'm Joe. I live in Brooklyn, NY, and I wear a bunch of different hats: I'm a data engineer, writer, and photographer. I've made a few short films and hope to make some more. My work spans both the technical and creative worlds, and I enjoy finding connections between them.

When I'm not coding something at work, you’ll probably find me in a movie theater or at a concert, or excitedly talking about something I just read with a friend or stranger at a bar. Possibly wandering the city's streets and taking photos of whatever I find. Film, philosophy, and music move the hell out of me and I'm always looking for something that might change how I see the world.

Notes From Inside a Pattern will be a site where I explore the principal patterns of my life through memoir, essays, and images. Whether I’m writing about a memory, unpacking a philosophical or political argument, or showing something that I captured with my lens that I thought was cool, I hope the work resonates with you.

Thanks for being here, and I look forward to sharing my thoughts with you.
